Catalog description
This is an introductory survey of the history and development of songs used for congregational singing in Christian churches. The course will explore traditional hymns, gospel songs, choruses, and contemporary worship music, from both a musical, and theological perspective. Students will also collaborate to compose new musical settings of classic hymns, and original songs intended for congregational singing.
