Catalog description

Writing is a process that can be taught, and people evolve as writers by learning to draft, revise, and polish their writing for different audiences and purposes. This course examines various conventions of fiction and nonfiction, including the examination of techniques used in short stories, flash fiction, one-act monologues, and nonfiction writing. This workshop-style course will provide students the opportunity to craft their writing process as they draft fiction and nonfiction selections for a writing portfolio. Students are required to submit writing to the University literary magazine for possible publication.
