CRIMINOLOGY

Catalog description

This course examines how criminal behavior, victimization, and responses to the criminal justice system are shaped by cultural identity. Particular attention is given to individuals and communities who are marginalized or underrepresented in the mainstream criminal justice process. Using criminological theories, crime measurement, and real-world case examples, students will analyze how cultural and subcultural experiences impact both participation in and the reaction to crime.
