Description: This course explores the musical features and vocal styles represented in early 20th century Musical Theatre literature including operetta, Golden-Age, and musical comedy. Core topics include tone, diction, phrasing, and vibrato as well as the physicality and movements associated with a style period. Students apply these styles and techniques to their own performance. The course includes critical viewing and listening of musical theatre repertoire.
