Description: This course encourages students to think critically and creatively about challenges facing political institutions in democratic countries, such as the United States and/or abroad, and the prospects for more robust democracy in the future. Topics may include the foundational principles of democracy, new research on threats to democracy, prominent democratic reform proposals, and evidence of their merits.
