Description: Calculus applied to curves and surfaces in three dimensions: length and curvature of plane curves, graphs and level sets, surfaces, tangent spaces, vector fields, orientation. Local and global theory of curves and surfaces, intrinsic and extrinsic geometry, the Gauss-Bonnet Theorem, applications. May not be used for degree credit with MATH 5443 .
