Catalog description

Description: This course provides an introduction to the Spanish language and Spanish-speaking communities across the United States, with a special emphasis on Spanish-speaking communities in Oklahoma. Students will explore key topics such as the history of Spanish in the U.S., differences in how Spanish is spoken in various regions, bilingualism, media representation, and language policy. Students will critically engage with these topics through weekly readings, discussions, and assignments. Course taught in English.
