Description: This course is designed for students with limited coding experience who are interested in learning Python to explore geospatial data. It introduces basic programming concepts, with emphasis on Python scripting to automate geoprocessing tasks in ArcGIS Pro. It also covers open-source Python packages such as Pandas, GeoPandas, and Matplotlib for processing and visualizing spatial data. As AI gains popularity, the course introduces various AI tools, including ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot, to enhance students’ geospatial programming skills. May not be used for degree credit with GEOG 4383 .
