Description: This course explores the economic forces driving city formation, growth, and development. We will delve into both intra-city and inter-city dynamics, examining topics such as agglomeration, economic growth, education, migration, land use, housing, and urban policy. Our focus is on understanding the economics of cities, urban policies, as well as the research methodologies employed in the field. By analyzing a curated selection of research articles, we aim to provide students with a solid foundation in urban economics and related fields. Course previously offered as ECON 5913.
