Description: This course provides a foundation for theoretical and empirical analysis of developing economies. Topics include the neoclassical household theory, rural economies, financial markets, human capital, program evaluation, and institutions. Course has three objectives: (i)offer a critical overview of development economics literature;(ii)present methodological approaches, with a focus on advances on experimental, quasi-experimental and observational data;(iii) prepare students for conducting original research & for critically evaluating research in the field.
