Description: Comprehensive exploration of the language processing requirements essential for proficient reading and writing. Typical development of oral language, phoneme awareness, decoding skills, printed word recognition, spelling, reading fluency, reading comprehension, and written expression. Detail on domains of language, including phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics, to understand their significance in reading and writing proficiency. May not be used for degree credit with CDIS 5552 .
