Catalog description

Description: Engineering of living systems at the molecular, cellular, and organismal levels: Origin of cellular life; reading and writing DNA; enzyme evolution; metabolic engineering. Applications to current and future biotechnologies in agriculture and medicine: Food and drug synthesis; biofuels; vaccines. This cross-listed course is designed to satisfy upper division elective requirements for students majoring in biochemistry or microbiology. Same course as MICR 3053 .
