Catalog description

Description: This course is designed to teach vocabulary and concepts about topics within the primary and early secondary educational STEM settings. Students will learn about applicable laws for K-12 interpreting, resources for STEM, Deaf education in K-12, and introduction to the field’s standard practice of educational interpreting. The course will have project-based and problem-based learning activities. The course will help prepare students who seek to enter the K-8th public school system as sign language interpreters or Deaf education teachers. This course will be taught in ASL.
