Catalog description

Survey of dramatic literature and theatre practice, including musical the- atre, playwrights, directors, actors, designers, and theatre movements. Course examines the development of theatre from the mid-20th century to present day focusing on the historical trajectory and variety of global per- formance forms. Examines social, religious, political, and artistic forces that have contributed to and infl uenced theatre including issues of race, gender, culture, identity, and ethnicity.
