Catalog description

A wide-ranging survey of the similarities and differences among major contemporary political systems. Included are examinations of govern- ment and politics in liberal democracies, communist and postcommu- nist countries, the newly industrializing states, and the less-developed countries. This course is specifi cally designed for international students as a required substitute for POLS 1113. It may also be taken by domestic students to fulfi ll the cross-cultural study requirement for general educa- tion.
