Survey of the repertoire written for the guitar’s predecessors from the medieval period to the end of the Baroque: reading the various forms of notation used from 1500-1750; how compositional and performance prac- tices changed over the time period; and how the repertoire that is com- monly performed by guitarists fi ts into a wider musical context.
