Survey of the repertoire written for the guitars predecessors from the medieval period to the end of the Baroque, reading the various forms of notation used from 1500–1750, how compositional and performance practices changed over the time period, and how the repertoire that is commonly performed by guitarists fi ts into a wider musical context.
