Catalog description
A theme-based survey of representative works from the Western litera- ture tradition that interrogates the canon: explores universal human themes across distinct cultural practices. Texts representing multiple authors, genres, periods, and cultures are considered within historical, religious, political, social, and aesthetic contexts. Satisfi es the literature and cross-cultural requirement of the General Education Curriculum and the Diversity Area requirement of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences Liberal Studies Core. May be repeated for credit when topics vary.
