Catalog description

Following a general description of the subject matter of economics and basic concepts including supply and demand analysis, this course develops the foundations of macroeconomics, Gross Domestic Product and its measurement, and theories of aggregate demand and aggregate supply. The monetary and banking systems and international trade and fi nance are also studied. These are all used to understand the causes and effects of changes in unemployment, in fl ation, economic growth rates, interest rates, exchange rates, and other economic variables.
