Introduces the fundamentals of cryptography including the historical overview of shift and substitution ciphers. Covers theories of modern cryptography including symmetric and asymmetric ciphers. One-way func- tions, hash functions, cryptographic techniques, security of ciphers, ethi- cal uses of cryptography and decryption practices. Topics also include randomness and current trends in cryptography.
