Catalog description

This course deals with the fundamental principles and mechanisms of genetics; including, structure and function of nucleic acids; mechanisms of inheritance and genetic change; similarities and differences in viral, prokaryotic, and eukaryotic systems; applications of statistics and other analytical tools to understanding the mechanisms of genetics; and an introduction to population genetics and related questions in molecular evolution. Three hours of lecture/discussion each week.
