Catalog description

This course is an introductory course in music for students without previous formal training in music, listening, or performance. The course is designed to provide understanding and enjoyment through informed listening, analysis, and discernment of musical elements, forms, and repertoire. The material selected is from all styles, periods, and cultures, including 20th century popular music. Concert attendance field trip required.
