Catalog description
This course introduces students to social media platforms including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Twitch, Snapchat, LinkedIn, wikis, blogs, and others and their use in career development, community building, communication, and marketing. Students examine how social media technologies empower individuals and organizations to create, collaborate, promote, and share content with diverse audiences and communities. The course emphasizes both the potential and limitations of these tools, offering hands-on experience with a range of platforms. Class sessions include discussions, student presentations, readings, case studies, and guest speakers who highlight emerging strategies and real-world applications in social media.
