Elementary Mandarin Chinese I

Catalog description

This course is an introduction to modern standard Chinese language (Mandarin). Students acquire listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in order to communicate effectively in simple Chinese. This course teaches the Chinese phonetic system, the structures of Chinese characters, the basic Chinese grammatical concepts, and aspects of Chinese culture in relation to the topic of the concurrent lesson.
