This course is an introductory course for students interested in immunology and the immunological technology relevant to biotechnology. Topics covered include protein chemistry relating to immunology; the lymphatic system; cellular and humoral immunity; immunoglobulins; antibody production; monoclonal antibodies; autoimmune diseases; blood-based diagnostics and testing; ELISA; immunoblot; western blot and affinity chromatography.
