Catalog description

Graduate level physical-chemical concepts of brazeability and solderability of metals, ceramics, and glasses and focuses on wetting by liquid filler metals, interfacial reactions, phase compositions of joint metal, hetero-diffusion, liquid embrittlement, as well as strength and reliability of brazed and soldered joints manufactured in aerospace, electronic, optical, mining, and other industries. Prereq: Grad standing in Engineering; or permission of instructor. 7193.01 Individual Studies in Welding Engineering G ½ - 6 Non-thesis research investigations under the directions of instructors. Comprehensive report required. Repeatable to a maximum of 12 cr hrs or 12 completions.
