Catalog description

This course overviews principles underlying drug action, including an investigation of current treatments for a variety of common diseases. In addition, this course will implement activities that emphasize the ethical aspects and implications of a variety of drug therapies. Prereq: Not open to students with credit for 2010, or 4400, or Pharmcl 5600, or HthRhSc 5510; or enrollment in PharmD program. 5410 Communicating Vaccine Science U G P 3 Vaccines represent an important advancement in modern medicine, preventing illness and saving millions of lives worldwide. Yet, despite their proven safety and effectiveness, vaccine refusal and hesitancy remain challenges for public health. This course examines the factors that contribute to vaccine decision-making, including psychological, social, and cultural influences. 5505 Pay It Forward U P 2 This course helps students become philanthropists through volunteering and creating services through grants for the community. PharmD and BSPS students will collaborate together in small groups to develop different projects for community partners. Pay It Forward exists in support from Ohio Campus Compact on campuses throughout Ohio. Prereq: Enrollment in the PharmD or BSPS programs. This course is graded S/U. 5520 Advanced Pharmaconutrition U G P 2 Provides concepts needed by pharmacists necessary to include nutrition into their daily assessment of patients and integrate their findings into the therapeutic plan.
