Catalog description

This course focuses on the theory and analysis of video-game music, focusing on topics such as functions of game audio, interactivity and immersion, game history and technology, comparisons between game music and film music, musical meaning and tropes, genres and styles, as well as fandom, song covers and nostalgia. Grad student must pass the graduate entrance assessment in music theory or prereq. Prereq: A grade of C- or above in Music 3422; or Grad standing; or permission of instructor.
