Introduction to the Language Sciences

Catalog description

Provides students with a general overview of linguistics and surveys the areas covered by the specialization: Language and Cognition, Language and Brain Function, Language and Society, Language and Technology, and Language Description and Fieldwork. Guest faculty will present in their areas of expertise and students will read and prepare assignments in multiple areas. Prereq: Not open to students with credit for Psych 6700. Cross-listed in Psych.
