This course is designed to give a student with little or no prior business experience a quick overview of key business functions. The objective of the course is to help you become better HR managers by enhancing your understanding of strategy, the general business environment, operations & technology, marketing, and finance. Prereq: Enrollment in MLHR program. 7335 Leveraging Diversity G 1½ Best practices and innovative ideas in managing diversity, the impact of diversity within and outside the organization, and how diversity creates value for an organization. Prereq: Grad standing. 7412 Competitive Analysis G 1½ Tools to identify, parse, and analyze the economic and market data necessary to complete a comprehensive strategic analysis of business competition. Application of major steps in industry analysis, competitive positioning, capability analysis, competitor analysis, and some private equity valuation. Prereq: Enrollment in MBA or WPMBA program, or permission of instructor. Not open to students with credit for 838. 7413 Advanced Strategic Analysis G 1½ Course objective is to analyze a firm's competitive situation and related strategies to create competitive advantage in a more realistic setting than is possible using the traditional case method.
