Catalog description

Fundamental concepts from physical metallurgy are applied to the non-equilibrium thermo- mechanical conditions associated with welding of structural alloys with a focus on carbon steels. The lab will provide guidance in the interpretation of weld metal microstructures. Prereq: Grad standing; or permission of instructor. Not open to students with credit for 4101 or 7611.
