Intended for clinical residents and veterinary graduate students with a strong interest in the application of epidemiology concepts to the clinical practice of veterinary medicine. Prereq: DVM or equiv; or permission of instructor. Not open to students with credit for 820. 8810 Advanced Concepts and Applications in Veterinary G V 1 Epidemiology In-depth exploration of philosophies that serve as the foundation for the science of epidemiology as it is applied to veterinary medicine. Instructor-guided discussions, assigned readings, and application activities. Prereq: 7721 or VMColl 6646; and VMColl 6510, or PuBHEpi 6410 or 6430. 8830 Modeling Transmission and Control of Infectious G V 3 Diseases in Humans and Animals Infectious disease modeling is a methodology used to study transmission dynamics in humans and animals and simulate disease control programs. This course provides an introduction to applied infectious disease modeling suitable for advanced undergraduate students, graduate students, health professional students, and health professionals. Prereq: 1st (second semester), 2nd, 3rd, or 4th yr standing in Veterinary Medicine Program, or Grad standing. Cross-listed in PubHEHS 5345.
