Systematic and quantitative strategies for selecting materials and processes as a foundation for designing with materials. Prereq: 2241, 2331, 2251, 2321, and enrollment as MatScEn-BS major; or permission of instructor. Not open to students with credit for 600. 4193.01 Individual Studies in Materials Science & Engineering U ½ - 6 Investigations in areas of advanced non-thesis research. Library and/or research investigations under the directions of instructors. Comprehensive report required. Prereq: Permission of instructor. Repeatable to a maximum of 12 cr hrs or 12 completions.
