Catalog description

Students will work to develop fluency with the fundamental materials of western tonal music. They will learn notational conventions, pitch, rhythm, and meter. They will recognize, write, and label intervals, key signatures, and major and minor triads. Students will synthesize and apply these concepts in two four-measure compositions. For non-majors who did not pass the theory placement exam.
