Catalog description
This human health focused class covers microbial metabolism and diversity, microbial genetics, and anti-microbial approaches. The impact of microbes on human health is explored through discussions about antibiotic resistant bacteria, pathogen emergence and re-emergence, host- microbe interactions, microbiome, immune responses, pathogenesis, vaccines, and epidemiology. Prereq: 3 credit hours in college-level Biology. Not open to students with credit for 4000.
