Foreign Study in History of Art: Medieval Art in Rome

and Florence This course traces the development of Christian architecture in Italy from its earliest examples in Rome to the late Middle Ages. We will study examples in Rome, Florence, Pisa, and Siena. The course is organized around intensive reading and instruction in the first week in Columbus, followed by two and a half weeks on-site in Italy looking at these early Christian and medieval buildings. Prereq: Permission of instructor.
