Catalog description

This course will introduce students to fundamental concepts of seismic ground motion characterization, site effects on ground motion response, soil liquefaction behavior and modeling, and dynamic interactions of embedded structures and slopes. Soil behavior under dynamic loads from earthquakes and other processes (e.g., groundwater seepage, coastal wave loading, ground vibrations) will be covered. Prereq: 3540; or Grad standing; or permission of instructor.
