Catalog description

This off-campus, experiential learning field course allows students to directly observe deep, moist atmospheric convection (thunderstorms) and associated phenomena through a 10-day field trip to the U.S. Central Plains, including daily morning and evening weather forecast discussions, identifying radar-based storm characteristics, and use observations to determine likelihood of server weather. Prereq: A grade of C- or above in 5201; and permission of instructor.
