Diversity in Context An introduction to the history of women and gender in Europe, from approximately 1750 to the 1950s, with a focus on the intersecting categories of race, ethnicity and class. We will explore the ways women have been perceived, defined, and categorized as a gender, and how they have both lived within and rebelled against these societal and cultural norms and restrictions.
