Catalog description

Nuclear energy has been vaunted as a sustainable energy source yet remains a controversial part of the world's energy matrix today. This course will historicize its development from the product of WWII scientific tests to the promise of limitless energy in the 1960s and 1970s, to the infamous catastrophes of Chernobyl and Fukushima, to present day advances and climate change issues. Prereq or concur: English 1110.xx, or permission of instructor.
