Catalog description

The purpose of this course is to provide students with an overview of mental illness, the DSM-5, and different conceptual frameworks for understanding the etiology, course, and treatment of diagnosable conditions. Students will be trained to use the DSM-5 to diagnose mental disorders and to view DSM-5 disorders from biopsychosocial-spiritual and relational/systemic perspectives. Prereq: Enrollment in HDFS Grad program, or permission of instructor.
