This course will examine postwar culture in Germany and Japan, looking at films, theoretical texts, memoirs, manifestos, and literary works, subjecting our material to cross-cultural analysis that should deepen as our basis for comparison expands. Team-taught with faculty in Japanese. Prereq: Not open to students with credit for Japanse 2255. Cross-listed in Japanse.
