Catalog description

The goal of this course is to introduce trainees to the fundamental algorithms and data analysis skills needed to understand and analyze genome-scale data sets, including genomics and epigenetics data. Students should have a broad overview of the field of bioinformatics, an introductory familiarity with high performance computing and the Linux environment, a basic familiarity with statistical methods, and a basic familiarity with the R statistical software environment, such as that presented in BMI 5750 (or should be willing to learn that material on their own).
