Catalog description

This course explores ways that contemporary social issues impact access to American Sign Language & Deaf lived experiences. By examining language access & intercultural competence, students will consider how thoughtful critique, and the exploration of versatile perspectives can lead to deeper understanding and civic engagement to achieve common goals. Satisfies embedded literacy: Advanced Writing. Prereq: One ASL course at the 3000 level or above, with a grade of C- or above.
