Catalog description

This course is a comprehensive overview of collaboration as both a concept and a skill. Students develop professional competencies related to collaboration, consultation, co-teaching, and teaming in special education. Students learn and apply skills in using evidence based practices and standards-based curriculum development to provide K-12 learners with disabilities access to the general education curriculum. Knowledge and skills also include the consultation process, co-planning and reflective teaching, universal design for learning (UDL), collaborating with professionals and parents, legal and ethical issues, and inter-agency and interdisciplinary collaboration.
