Catalog description

This course focuses on the design and application of age-appropriate, functional, academic, and social/emotional instructional strategies for students with low incidence disabilities. Teacher candidates (pre-service teachers) learn curricular adoption/development, technology planning, proficiency testing/alternatives, and evidence-based teaching methods. This includes the development and/or use of educational content, adaptive equipment, assistive devices, and instructional materials to promote self-determination. Teacher candidates apply the methods through case-based instruction, hands-on participation, and cooperative teaming.
