Catalog description

This course focuses on the selection of current methods used in teaching students with high incidence disabilities. Students discuss instructional considerations to integrate effective teaching methods and eliminate potential learning barriers. This course presents specific techniques and practice activities on effective methods of instruction for learners with high incidence disabilities, focusing on Universal Design for Learning, backwards planning, scaffolding, and differentiation techniques. Students apply the various instructional and assistive technologies used in the field of special education to their lesson planning and classroom instruction.
