Catalog description
Grounded in the science of reading, this course introduces theories of language acquisition and reading development, focusing on Gough and Tunmer’s Simple View of Reading, and builds background knowledge of developmentally appropriate literacy practices. In this course, candidates explore a continuum of typical literacy development and begin to explore how to develop and differentiate instruction to meet individual learner needs.
