Catalog description

This course applies both the art and science of design practice by emphasizing using design strategies to address user’s physiological, informational, and social needs. This includes investigations in how building form, materiality and human factors affect designed space composition. In creating supportive environmental designs, investigations include research, programming, analysis, theory, ideation and conceptualization, schematic design, project evaluation, refinement, materials, finishes, detailing, furnishings, lighting, communication graphics, and formal presentation.
