Ceramics Hand Building

Catalog description

Students learn hand building techniques in clay that incorporate diverse surface techniques, slips, and glazing. Equipment, tools and materials within the ceramics studio are addressed alongside of their proper use and application. Emphasis is placed on the combination of form and concept as students develop their own unique artworks. Through demonstrations, discussions, critiques and studio work students gain problem-solving skills in the making process while exploring contemporary approaches to ceramics.
